The Revelation of Jesus Christ
1The Revelation of Jesus Christ (1), which God gave Him to show His servants (2) —things which must shortly take place (3). And He sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John (4), 2 who bore witness to the word of God (5), and to the testimony of Jesus Christ (6), to all things that he saw. 3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy (7) and keep those things which are written in it (8); for the time is near (9). 4 John, to the seven churches (10) which are in Asia: Grace to you and peace (11) from Him who is and who was and who is to come (12), and from the seven Spirits (13) who are before His throne (14), 5 and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness (15), the firstborn from the dead (16), and the ruler over the kings of the earth (17). To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood (18), 6 and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father (19), to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever (20). Amen. 7 Behold, He is coming with clouds (21), and every eye will see Him (22), even they who pierced Him (23). And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him (24). Even so, Amen. 8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega (25), the Beginning and the End (26),” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come (27), the Almighty (28).” 9 I, John, both your brother and companion in the tribulation (29) and kingdom (30) and patience (31) of Jesus Christ, was on the island that is called Patmos for the word of God (32) and for the testimony of Jesus Christ (33). 10 I was in the Spirit (34) on the Lord’s Day (35), and I heard behind me a loud voice, as of a trumpet, 11 saying, “I am the Alpha and the Omega (36), the First and the Last (37),” and, “What you see, write in a book (38)
and send it to the seven churches which are in Asia: to Ephesus, to
Smyrna, to Pergamos, to Thyatira, to Sardis, to Philadelphia, and to
Laodicea.” 12 Then I turned to see the voice that spoke with me. And
having turned I saw seven golden lampstands, 13 and in the midst of the
seven lampstands One like the Son of Man (39), clothed with a garment down to the feet and girded about the chest with a golden band (40). 14 His head and hair were white like wool (41), as white as snow (42), and His eyes like a flame of fire (43); 15 His feet were like fine brass (44), as if refined in a furnace, and His voice as the sound of many waters (45); 16 He had in His right hand seven stars, out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword (46), and His countenance was like the sun shining in its strength (47). 17 And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not be afraid (48); I am the First and the Last (49). 18 I am He who lives (50), and was dead (51), and behold, I am alive forevermore (52). Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death (53).
19 Write the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and
the things which will take place after this. 20 The mystery of the
seven stars which you saw in My right hand, and the seven golden
lampstands: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches (54), and the seven lampstands which you saw are the seven churches (55). Revelation Chapter 1.
1) Has Jesus Christ been revealed to you as God?
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1
2) Are you a servant of Jesus Christ?
Paul, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated
to the gospel of God which He promised before through His prophets in
the Holy Scriptures, concerning His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who was
born of the seed of David according to the flesh, and declared to be
the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, by the
resurrection from the dead. Romans 1:1-4
3) Are you ready for the return of Jesus Christ?
“Therefore, you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.” Matthew 24:44
4) Are you a servant of Jesus Christ?
But Jesus answered them, saying, “The hour has come that the Son of Man
should be glorified. Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of
wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies,
it produces much grain. He who loves his life will lose it, and he who
hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. If anyone
serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be
also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor. John 12:23-26
5) Are you a witness to the word of God?
Then the word of God spread, and the number of the disciples multiplied
greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests were obedient to
the faith. Acts 6:7
6) Do you have a testimony of Jesus Christ?
I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was
given to you by Christ Jesus, that you were enriched in everything by
Him in all utterance and all knowledge, even as the testimony of Christ
was confirmed in you, so that you come short in no gift, eagerly
waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will also
confirm you to the end, that you may be blameless in the day of our
Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 1:4-8
7) Are you blessed by reading, hearing, or studying of Scripture?
Then He said to them, “O foolish
ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have
spoken! Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter
into His glory?” And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He
expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.
Then they drew near to the village where they were going, and He
indicated that He would have gone farther. But they constrained Him,
saying, “Abide with us, for it is toward evening, and the day is far
spent.” And He went in to stay with them. Now it came to pass, as He
sat at the table with them, that He took bread, blessed and broke it,
and gave it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they knew Him; and
He vanished from their sight. And they said to one another, “Did not
our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while
He opened the Scriptures to us?” Luke 24:25-32
8) Are you abiding by the word of God?
“These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and
that your joy may be full. This is My commandment, that you love one
another as I have loved you.” John 15:11-12
9) Are you ready for the return of Jesus Christ?
And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were
ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut. Afterward
the other virgins came also, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us!’ But he
answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’ Watch
therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son
of Man is coming.” Matthew 25:10-13
10) One true church proclaimers are confused.
For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints. 1 Corinthians 14:33
11) Grace and peace come from the Father and the Son.
Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our
brother, to the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints
who are in all Achaia: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and
the Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 1:1-2
12) Yahweh is the ever-present God.
And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall
say to the children of Israel, I AM has sent me to you.’” Moreover, God
said to Moses, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel: ‘The LORD
God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God
of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever, and this is My
memorial to all generations.’” Exodus 3:14-15
13) The seven spirits will be pouring out the wrath of God.
And out of the temple came the seven angels having the seven plagues,
clothed in pure bright linen, and having their chests girded with
golden bands. Then one of the four living creatures gave to the seven
angels seven golden bowls full of the wrath of God who lives forever
and ever. Revelation 15:6-7
14) The seven spirits are before the throne of God.
Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven,
and One sat on the throne. And He who sat there was like a jasper and a
sardius stone in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne,
in appearance like an emerald. Around the throne were twenty-four
thrones, and on the thrones, I saw twenty-four elders sitting, clothed
in white robes; and they had crowns of gold on their heads. And from
the throne proceeded lightnings, thunderings, and voices. Seven lamps
of fire were burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of
God. Revelation 4:2-5
15) Jesus Christ is the faithful witness of Yahweh.
“No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I
will raise him up at the last day. It is written in the prophets, and
they shall all be taught by God.’ Therefore, everyone who has heard and
learned from the Father comes to Me. Not that anyone has seen the
Father, except He who is from God; He has seen the Father. Most
assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.”
John 6:44-47
16) Jesus Christ should have the preeminence in all things.
And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the
firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the
preeminence. Colossians 1:18
17) Jesus Christ will be the ruler of the world.
Why do nations rage, and the people plot a vain thing? The kings of the
earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the
LORD and against His Anointed, saying, “Let us break Their bonds in
pieces and cast away Their cords from us.” He who sits in the heavens
shall laugh; The Lord shall hold them in derision. Then He shall speak
to them in His wrath, and distress them in His deep displeasure: “Yet I
have set My King on My holy hill of Zion.” I will declare the decree:
The LORD has said to Me, You are My Son, today I have begotten You. Ask
of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance, and the
ends of the earth for Your possession. You shall break them with a rod
of iron; You shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.’” Now
therefore, be wise, O kings; Be instructed, you judges of the earth.
Serve the LORD with fear and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest
He be angry, and you perish in the way, when His wrath is kindled but a
little. Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him. Psalms 2
18) Believers are redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ.
But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the
greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not
of this creation. Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His
own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained
eternal redemption. For if the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes
of a heifer, sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies for the purifying of
the flesh, how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the
eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your
conscience from dead works to serve the living God? And for this reason
He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the
redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those
who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.
Hebrews 9:11-15
19) Believers will judge the world.
Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the
unrighteous, and not before the saints? Do you not know that the saints
will judge the world? And if the world will be judged by you, are you
unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Do you not know that we shall
judge angels? How much more are there things that pertain to this life?
1 Corinthians 6:1-3
20) All glory belongs to Yahweh.
Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God!
How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! “For
who has known the mind of the LORD? Or who has become His counselor? Or
who has first given to Him and it shall be repaid to him?” For of Him
and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever.
Amen. Romans 11:33-36
21) Jesus Christ will return in the clouds of heaven.
“But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened,
and the moon will not give its light; the stars of heaven will fall,
and the powers in the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see the
Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.” Mark
13:24-26
22) Everyone will witness the return of Jesus Christ.
“And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and
on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the
waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation
of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the
heavens will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a
cloud with power and great glory.” Luke 21:25-27
23) Everyone will witness the return of Jesus Christ.
But when they came to Jesus and saw that He was already dead, they did
not break His legs. But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a
spear, and immediately blood and water came out. And he who has seen
has testified, and his testimony is true; and he knows that he is
telling the truth, so that you may believe. For these things were done
that the Scripture should be fulfilled, “Not one of His bones shall be
broken.” And again another Scripture says, “They shall look on Him whom
they pierced.” John 19:33-37
24) Unbelievers will mourn the coming wrath of God.
“Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be
darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall
from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then the
sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes
of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the
clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” Matthew 24:29-30
25) The Father is Yahweh.
And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the
Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life
freely to him who thirsts. Revelation 21:6
26) The Son is Yahweh.
“And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write, ‘These things says the
First and the Last, who was dead, and came to life: “I know your works,
tribulation, and poverty (but you are rich); and I know the blasphemy
of those who say they are Jews and are not but are a synagogue of
Satan. Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer.
Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you
may be tested, and you will have tribulations for ten days. Be faithful
until death, and I will give you the crown of life.”’” Revelation 2:8-10
27) Jesus Christ is to come or return.
“And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to
everyone according to his work. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the
Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.” Revelation 22:12-13
28) Yahweh is God Almighty.
And the twenty-four elders who sat before God on their thrones fell on
their faces and worshiped God, saying: “We give You thanks, O Lord God
Almighty, the One who is and who was and who is to come, because You
have taken Your great power and reigned.” Revelation 11:16-17
29) Are you suffering tribulation for Jesus Christ?
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of
mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation,
that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the
comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as the
sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds
through Christ. 2 Corinthians 1:3-5
30) The kingdom of God concerns Jesus Christ.
Then Paul dwelt two whole years in his own rented house, and received
all who came to him, preaching the kingdom of God and teaching the
things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ with all confidence, no one
forbidding him. Acts 28:30-31
31) Believers are powered with patience to endure by God.
For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to
pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of
His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may walk
worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good
work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all
might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and
longsuffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father who has qualified
us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. He
has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the
kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His
blood, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:9-14
32) Have you been imprisoned for the word of God?
Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the
breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the
preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of
faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the
wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the
Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and
supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all
perseverance and supplication for all the saints— and for me, that
utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make
known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in
chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. Ephesians
6:14-20
33) Have you been imprisoned for your testimony of Jesus Christ?
But I want you to know, brethren, that the things which happened to me
have actually turned out for the furtherance of the gospel, so that it
has become evident to the whole palace guard, and to all the rest, that
my chains are in Christ; and most of the brethren in the Lord, having
become confident by my chains, are much more bold to speak the word
without fear. Philippians 1:12-14
34) Do you worship God in spirit and truth?
“But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will
worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such
to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship
in spirit and truth.” John 4:23-24
35) Do you think about the return of Jesus Christ?
But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need
that I should write to you. For you yourselves know perfectly that the
day of the Lord comes as a thief in the night. For when they say,
“Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor
pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. But you,
brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as
a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of
the night nor of darkness. Therefore, let us not sleep as others do,
but let us watch and be sober. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and
those who get drunk are drunk at night. But let us who are of the day
be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet
the hope of salvation. For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to
obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that
whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him. 1
Thessalonians 5:1-10
36) Jesus Christ is Yahweh.
“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the
Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” Revelation
1:8
37) Jesus Christ is Yahweh.
“Listen to Me, O Jacob, and Israel, My called: ‘I am He, I am the
First, I am also the Last. Indeed, My hand has laid the foundation of
the earth, and My right hand has stretched out the heavens; When I call
to them, they stand up together.’” Isaiah 48:12-13
38) Prophecy ends with this book.
For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this
book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues
that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words
of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the
Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written
in this book. Revelation 22:18-19
39) Jesus Christ should be the central message of believers.
“Also, I say to you, whoever confesses Me before men, him the Son of
Man also will confess before the angels of God. But he who denies Me
before men will be denied before the angels of God.” Luke 12:8-9
40) Jesus Christ is brilliant in glory.
Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, led
them up on a high mountain by themselves; and He was transfigured
before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as
white as the light. Matthew 17:1-2
41) Jesus Christ is brilliant in glory.
Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John, and led them up
on a high mountain apart by themselves; and He was transfigured before
them. His clothes became shining, exceedingly white, like snow, such as
no launderer on earth can whiten them. Mark 9:2-3
42) Jesus Christ is brilliant in glory.
Now it came to pass, about eight days after these sayings, that He took
Peter, John, and James and went up on the mountain to pray. As He
prayed, the appearance of His face was altered, and His robe became
white and glistening. Luke 9:28-29
43) Jesus Christ will judge with eyes like a flame of fire.
Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on
him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and
makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were
many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He
was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The
Word of God. Revelation 19:11-13
44) Jesus Christ will tread the winepress wrath of God.
“I have trodden the winepress alone, and from the peoples no one was
with Me. For I have trodden them in My anger and trampled them in My
fury; Their blood is sprinkled upon My garments, and I have stained all
My robes. For the day of vengeance is in My heart, and the year of My
redeemed has come.” Isaiah 63:3-4
45) Jesus Christ is Yahweh.
The voice of the LORD is over the waters; The God of glory thunders;
The LORD is over many waters. The voice of the LORD is powerful; The
voice of the LORD is full of majesty. The voice of the LORD breaks the
cedars, yes, the LORD splinters the cedars of Lebanon. He makes them
also skip like a calf, Lebanon and Sirion like a young wild ox. The
voice of the LORD divides the flames of fire. Psalms 29:3-7
46) Jesus Christ will destroy unbelievers.
Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike
the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He
Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty
God. And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF
KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. Revelation 19:15-16
47) Jesus Christ is brilliant in glory.
“Now it happened, as I journeyed and came near Damascus at about noon,
suddenly a great light from heaven shone around me. And I fell to the
ground and heard a voice saying to me, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you
persecuting Me?’ So, I answered, ‘Who are You, Lord?’ And He said to
me, ‘I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom you are persecuting.’” Acts 22:6-8
48) Believers should never be afraid of Jesus Christ.
Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the
sea. And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were
troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear. But
immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Be of good cheer! It is I; do
not be afraid.” Matthew 14:25-27
49) Jesus Christ is Yahweh.
“Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel, and his Redeemer, the LORD of
hosts: ‘I am the First and I am the Last; Besides Me there is no God.’”
Isaiah 44:6
50) The Father raised Jesus Christ from the dead.
Paul, an apostle (not from men nor through man, but through Jesus
Christ and God the Father who raised Him from the dead), and all the
brethren who are with me, to the churches of Galatia: Grace to you and
peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, who gave Himself
for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil age,
according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be glory forever
and ever. Amen. Galatians 1:1-5
51) The Son raised Jesus Christ from the dead.
So, the Jews answered and said to Him, “What sign do You show to us,
since You do these things?” Jesus answered and said to them, “Destroy
this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” Then the Jews said,
“It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise
it up in three days?” But He was speaking of the temple of His body.
Therefore, when He had risen from the dead, His disciples remembered
that He had said this to them; and they believed the Scripture and the
word which Jesus had said. John 2:18-22
52) The Holy Spirit raised Jesus Christ from the dead.
But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of
God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he
is not His. And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin,
but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of
Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ
from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His
Spirit who dwells in you. Romans 8:9-11
53) Jesus Christ is the key to eternal life.
Then Jesus said to them again, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the
door of the sheep. All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers,
but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door. If anyone enters by Me,
he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief
does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come
that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
John 10:7-10
54) There is no one true organized church.
We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is fitting,
because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of every one of you
all abounds toward each other, so that we ourselves boast of you among
the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your
persecutions and tribulations that you endure, which is manifest
evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be counted
worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you also suffer; since it is a
righteous thing with God to repay with tribulation those who trouble
you, and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus
is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking
vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey
the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 1:3-8
55) There is no one true organized church.
“I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the
churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and
Morning Star.” And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him
who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires,
let him take the water of life freely. Revelation 22:16-17
Note: The water of eternal life is free through faith in Jesus Christ.
But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being
witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God,
through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there
is no difference; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of
God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is
in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood,
through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His
forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously
committed, to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that
He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
Romans 3:21-26
