BOOK OF MORMON - Critique of Helaman

An account of the Nephites. Their wars and contentions, and their dissensions. And also the prophecies of many holy prophets, before the coming of Christ, according to the records of Helaman, who was the son of Helaman, and also according to the records of his sons, even down to the coming of Christ. And also many of the Lamanites are converted. An account of their conversion. An account of the righteousness of the Lamanites, and the wickedness and abominations of the Nephites, according to the record of Helaman and his sons, even down to the coming of Christ, which is called the book of Helaman, and so forth from 52 to 1 BCE in America.

And Helaman was the son of Helaman, who was the son of Alma, who was the son of Alma, being a descendant of Nephi who was the son of Lehi, who came out of Jerusalem in the first year of the reign of Zedekiah, the king of Judah.

Chapter 1 - Judges Pahoran and Pacumeni are murdered. Lamanite general Coriantumr is slain.

Chapter 2 - Helaman elected chief judge and his servant slays Kishkumen.

Chapter 3 - Many Nephites migrate northward and Nephi becomes the chief judge.

Chapter 4 - Lamanites conquer Zarahemla and the Church dwindles.

Chapter 5 - Nephi and Lehi begin preaching, people convert, and miracles occur.

Chapter 6 - The righteous Lamanites preach to the wicked Nephites and robbers take over government.

Chapter 7 - Nephi is rejected in the north and returns to Zarahemla and prays in a garden tower.

Chapter 8 - Corrupt judges seek to incite the people against Nephi while preaching Christ.

Chapter 9 - Nephi identifies Seantum as the murderer of the chief judge.

Chapter 10 - Nephi receives sealing power and The Spirit carries him around.

Chapter 11 - Nephi persuades the Lord to provide a famine and then rain.

Chapter 12 - The Lord chastens His people and judgement day revealed.

Chapter 13 - Samuel the Lamanite prophesies the destruction of the Nephites.

Chapter 14 - Samuel prophesies about signs of the birth and death of the Mormon Jesus.

Chapter 15 - The Lord will be merciful unto the Lamanites in the latter days.

Chapter 16 - Samuel cannot be slain with the arrows and stones of the unrepentant Nephites.
