WATCHTOWER - JANUARY 15, 1996
Page 8: "Jehovah is King to time indefinite, even forever." sang the psalmist. (Psalm 10:16) This King of eternity has opened the way for mankind to enjoy life eternal through his Son, Jesus Christ. (John 17:3)
Correction: Mankind can enjoy eternal life with the Father if they go through the Son.
Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him." John 14:6-7.
Clarification: So who is the King?
For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son, that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him. John 5:22-23.
Then Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All Authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth." Matthew 28:18.
Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. Revelation 19:15-16.
But the LORD shall endure forever; He has prepared His throne for judgment. He shall judge the world in righteousness, and He shall administer judgment for the peoples in uprightness. Psalm 9:7-8
Page 13: The hundreds of thousands assembled at the "Joyful Praisers" District Conventions of Jehovah's Witnesses were delighted to receive this new 192-page book entitled Knowledge That Leads to Everlasting Life.
Page 14: Otherwise, it is suggested that Bible studies be switched to the Knowledge book.
Correction: Should not the book used for Bible studies be the Holy Bible?
Page 14: Hence, before you switch your present Bible studies to this new publication, it is recommended that you spend a few hours reviewing the questions on pages 175 to 218 of the book Organized to Accomplish Our Ministry. This will help you to stress the answers to such questions during Bible studies in the Knowledge book. People everywhere should hear the good news.
Correction: The gospel is the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ, not some book.
Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4
Page 22: Primarily, of course, we attend Christian meetings in order to be "taught by Jehovah," to receive instruction about him and his ways.
Clarification: Whoever has been taught of the Father turns to the Son.
It is written in the prophets, "And they shall all be taught by God." Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me. (Jesus) John 6:45
Page 23: Jesus appointed a class whom he designated as "the faithful and discreet slave" to dispense spiritual "food at the proper time." (Matthew 24:45) In the first century C.E., this body of spirit-annointed Christians was already at work.
Correction: Matthew 24:45 is talking about true servants of Jesus Christ at His return.
Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not expect Him. Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season? Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing. Matthew 24:44-46.
Servant Example: Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ. Romans 1:1
Page 23: Do you partake of that food? It is readily available in the printed literature the slave class makes available all over the world.
Page 23: Make full use of the literature from the faithful slave class.
Correction: God has no various classes of His peoples.
Now therefore, let the fear of the LORD be upon you; take care and do it, for there is no iniquity with the LORD our God, no partiality, nor taking of bribes. 2 Chronicles 19:7
Then Peter opened his mouth and said: "In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality."
For there is no partiality with God. Romans 2:11
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:28
And you, masters, do the same things to them, giving up threatening, knowing that your own Master also is in heaven, and there is no partiality with Him. Ephesians 6:9
And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ. But he who does wrong will be repaid for the wrong which he has done, and there is no partiality.
And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one's work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your sojourning here in fear. 1 Peter 1:17
Page 25: We too must rely on Jehovah's holy spirit, or active force, to accomplish our ministry.
Correction: The Holy Spirit is a person not a force.
But the Helper (not force), the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He (not it) will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. John 14:26
But when the Helper (not force) comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who (not it) proceeds from the Father, He (not it) will testify of Me. (Jesus) John 15:26
Note: The above verses also demonstrates the three persons within God or the Trinity.
Page 23: The articles are written very carefully, often after many weeks or months of painstaking research, study, and prayer. The counsel is Bible-based, tried and true.
Note: Obviously, more painstaking research, BIBLE study, and prayer needs to done on Watchtower articles.
