YOUR SINS

Sin defined: the debased state of human nature in which the self is estranged from God.

1) Everyone has sinned or done wrong.
Ecclesiastes 7:20 For there is not a just man on earth who does good and does not sin.
1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

2) Sin begins with selfish desires that leads to wrong actions.
James 1:14-15 But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.

3) Are you practicing false religion?
Matthew 12:31 "Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men."
1 Timothy 6:3-5 If anyone teaches otherwise and does not consent to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which accords with godliness, he is proud, knowing nothing, but is obsessed with disputes and arguments over words, from which come envy, strife, reviling, evil suspicions, useless wranglings of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. From such withdraw yourself.

4) Are you angry with someone?
Genesis 4:6-7 So the LORD said to Cain, "Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it."

5) Do you want what is not yours?
Exodus 20:17 "You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor's."

6) Have you confessed your sins to God?
Psalm 32:5 I acknowledged my sin to You, and my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the LORD," and You forgave the iniquity of my sin.

7) Do you know the word of God in context?
Psalm 119:11 Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You!
1 John 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

Note: Have you placed your faith in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins?
Romans 3:22-26 For there is no difference; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
